Frequently Asked Questions

"I want aerial photography for my event, but I don't know what to ask for."

Not a problem! Let us know if there are any specific times or spots you want captured and we'll make it happen. With a keen eye for perspectives, timing, and years of photography experience, you can leave the details to us and be confident that you'll receive imagery that exceeds your expectations.

"Can you edit the pictures or video you capture for me?"

Certainly. Minor image correction or enhancement is included with every package. Most of the time, images and video come out great as-shot but if something doesn't meet our standards, we'll make the necessary corrections to ensure you're getting the best product we can provide. Custom editing is available at an additional charge which is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

"I have a long term project I would like to document the progress of, can you do that?"

Yes! We are happy to work together and create a package that meets your needs. Scheduling, imagery, video, locations, and more can all be worked out to make your vision a reality. Simply request a quote to start the process and we'll take it from there.

"What can I expect during a shoot?"

For most shooting days, we will meet with you on-site to lock in the final details and make a plan. If needed, the pilot may have a visual observer on-site as a second set of eyes if there is a chance direct line of sight with the drone can't be maintained. This is both required by law and is a standard safety practice. While the pilot is flying, they'll be concentrating on the flight and should not be interrupted. We love to chat but we love keeping things safe and delivering the best product possible even more.

"I've requested a quote, what's next?"

Once we receive your request, we get to work looking at the location and the service(s) requested and start putting together a plan to make it happen. This could involve mapping the site, making a visit if needed, coordinating with the FAA, and other details. We handle everything but may request more information from you during this process to ensure that the quote we deliver is as accurate as possible.

"Jamestown Regional Airport is so close by, isn't that an issue?"

Sort of. The FAA has many rules and regulations when it comes to flying drones near airports. Jamestown Aerial Photography mainly coordinates with the FAA using a system called LAANC (Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability). In situations where this system cannot be used, and there are many, we coordinate directly with the FAA. Every single flight is done in compliance with all laws and regulations.
