Jamestown Controlled Airspace Map

The Class E2 airspace around JMS is split into discrete height-restricted zones. Via the LAANC process a certified remote pilot can request up to or beyond the specified above ground level (AGL) limit.

Certain areas in the Jamestown Class E2 airspace do not use the LAANC system for authorization. In the image below, the red “H” across the JMS runway is a non-LAANC zone. When an operation requires the use of one of these zones, the certified remote pilot must first submit a Part 107 request for airspace authorization via the FAA. The process can take anywhere from a few days to a few months to complete.
